Well, I've been a bit negligent in updating my blog. Anyway, this was shot at the Mermaid Parade on Coney Island. Like most of the participants, she was willing to humor a photographer for the few seconds it took to shoot this image.

While photographing
Andrea, I asked her makeup artist, Zondra, to pose for a few as well. This is by far my favorite. I think she has a great Annie Lennox cool to her.

For those who are unfamiliar a "Quince" is a Latina girl's coming of age party celebrated on her 15th birthday, a combination debutante party and sweetsixteen. Raquel is cousin number two, my sister-in-law's daughter. She's pictured here with her father, Isaac, in an unguarded moment.

Seems like I'm always photographing bands! Anyway, I don't know who they are but they can really jam. I photographed them at the Miami Springs River Festival, April 2005, which incidentally featured a lot more than just bands.

I attended the Crawfish festival at Tobacco Road, the oldest bar in Miami with Liquor license number 1. Anyway, a good time was had by all, especially those of us behind our lenses.

I must have taken a zillion shots at the Florida Renaisance Fair, but none with the appeal of this image. This photo is compositionally perfect. The subjects fit their roles so very well.

While attending the St. John's School annual fair I thought about experimenting a bit by dragging the shutter. I set the camera on shutter priority at 1/30 and let it choose the appropriate apperture value. It chose f/32, the smallest my lens would permit but ended up automatically shifting the shutter to 1/45 to keep the image from over exposing. I must have taken about twenty shots of this ride. This is definately the best as it captures the spirit of the ride.
